For the record, that first beep was him just saying beep. The real beep is in a few seconds.

[Another hour or so before he finally replies.]

[And he settles down on the branch of a tree in the open, waiting and scanning the skies]

[Well, eventually he'll show up, quietly though, doing his best not to make a lot of noise. Summoner doesn't really look at Sollux for too long, he's more focused on the ground. He seems tired, if his blood wasn't near the the same colour as his eyes, they'd appear bloodshot, and he's got pretty heavy bags under them too. His over all movements are rather lethargic too, even the weak smile he only half manages to give him.]

Hey.

[Sollux looks a little tired, too. He was pushing his powers a lot, searching as best he could, and now he has a wicked migraine after it took him so long to get a response. So he's a bit pale and looking haggard, but he flies up anyway and grabs Summoner's hand as if he is going to disappear]

You look like shit.

[He doesn't move, just lets him grab his hand, looking down.]

Yeah...

[Sollux sighs and just moulds himself to Summoner, wrapping his arms around and careful of his wings, burying his face against his chest.]

[There's no startle or tense from the gesture, he just looks down and slowly moves to place a hand ontop of Sollux's head.] ...Sorry.

Why are you apologizing to me dumbass? [These words are muffled by Summoner pectorals]

For, I dunno, for not going to you. I'm pretty bad at this. [That's all right. He'll bring his other hand around to set it at Sollux's upper back.]

Oh, yeah. Yeah you should apologise to me for that. [He nuzzles in and tightens his own arms] Your dumb matesprit shouldn't have to text me to tell me to go find you, either. But I forgive you.

[A whince.] Ah... he did, did he?

Of course he did. That's what he does. [Rubbing his back a little, nuzzling] When are you going to figure out that people love you?

I, I know they do, heh. [His brows furrow, giving a small smile.] Guess that's uh, actually the problem right now. [He fidgets slightly from the hands touching his back, but tries not to fight it too much, he's too weak to anyway.]

[Sollux senses the discomfort and tries to move his hands, but there's not really anywhere for them to go that's not covered in wing except Summoner's butt, and that's just a bit weird. He tries his sides instead]

Yeah... I don't have a suggestion, to be honest.

Yeah.. I uh, I don't think a lot of people would, heh. But I- [A sigh, closing her eyes.] She wants me back but-

I listened to the conversation. [The admission is soft, factual. Maybe Summoner will be mad at him for invading his privacy, but he feels it might be better this way - telling Summoner he doesn't have to try to explain what happened]

...Yeah. [Oh, right it- it was all public wasn't it... That's probably good and bad, good because he won't have to continuously retell it if people he'd tell ask, and bad because... well mostly bad because that conversation was really painful for him and for Mindfang.]

[His shoulders slump a little, closing his eyes as he grows silent.]

[Sollux presses up and gives him a gentle pale kiss on his cheek]

Hey... I know you like being outside and stuff, but can we go back to my hive?

[He's a little late, but e eventually tilts his head down a bit to receive it, flushing slightly as ruffling Sollux's hair.]

Uh- yeah... sure I guess. [He really should keep on the move anyway, not that he doesn't know where Mindfang and Darkleer are right now.]

[Summoner unlatches from him, lazily moving past towards the elevator, hand rubbing the back of his neck anxiously.]

[Sollux untangles himself as well, pleased and relieved. He'd expected resistance, but he really wants to get them somewhere warm where he can ply Summoner with some real pale affection.

He grabs Summoner's hand and walks with him, careful not to bash himself on his horns]

[Not a lot of resistance in him right now to be honest. Not a lot of anything really. He's just tired and wants to sleep, but can't sleep... can't be in the same place too long. He barely clenches onto that hand as it grabs his own, as the elevator closes behind them and starts it's way into the bubble.]

[Sollux gently leads him down into the bubble and over to his hive by the quickest route he could take. He avoids Feferi as they go inside and he brings Summoner straight to his respite block

There, he gives a quiet command, the first words he's spoken in quite a while]

Sit on the sleeping rectangle. I'll be right back.
