[Ugh. Sometimes it's frustrating when he gets like this, and Darkleer remembers Sollux saying that pushing made things worse- but how else can he get him to talk?]

If it's bad news, then at least I can be prepared for the worst or be all the more relieved if something good happens. Just "being myself" feels an awful lot as though I am doing nothing at all, for better or worse.

Ah, bad news is always good news to someone. [And still manages to be both good and bad news to him, at least in this situation. Summoner feels like his stomach's going to tear itself a part thinking about this right now, with Darkleer right there.]

...I imagine it would be unfair if I tried to offer advice, but I would like to anyway.

[One hand tentatively starts to reach for something of Summoner's, but he stops himself, letting it hang awkwardly.]

Alright. [Deep breath.] She's been here since the human's Christmas- four months, really. That's a long time for this place. I'm not sure if any of us can really afford to run away from this for much longer. Any day, one of us could be back home.

I think... maybe it's best to stop holding back and just dive into a decision- any kind of decision. Sometimes drawing it out can hurt more than anything.

[He squeezes his hand, just a little.]

Sometimes you have to make a decision and hope it's the best one. There's always a chance you could try again, after all. [He gives a weak smile.] I think that's what happened with us, after all. Twice we rejected one another until we finally realized that there wasn't any reason to run from it...

[Lysunder's brows furrow, looking down at their hands befoe he finally shakes his head.]

Not- not that easy, Darkleer. With this, no matter what I do I'm going to hurt someone I love. I can't just- I can't just pick something. [A breath, closing his eyes.] In war- heh- there's- there's time's were you rush in, and times where you spend as much time planning as you can. I may not be good with all this- but that much I think I understand. [His expression saddens again, shoulders slumping slightly.]

What sacrifice am I will to make, this decision is a lot more selfish than I ever like to be.

[With war, he understands, but... Darkleer shakes his head before tugging Summoner closer so he can wrap his other arm around him.]

I hope you come to a decision, then, more for your shake than either hers or mine.

...y-yeah. [Said as he breathes out, closing his eyes and just, collapsing his weight against him.]

[He takes him easily, carrying as if he's the most precious thing in reality. Gently, Darkleer eases down until he can gather the tired troll onto his lap.]

Mm-? [A quizzical glance, pulling his head back a little but he soon relaxes and lets Darkleer move him, eventually in his lap as the other troll wanted. Summoner sighs, feeling a little awkward like this... after what they just talked about. But he accepts it, doing his best to just continue relaxing, glancing up with a small nod.]

Heh, if you uh- think it's all right to spoil me, not that I'm really doing anything to deserve it, Tink.

[This way it's easier on both of them, and Darkleer can still hold Summoner and take some of his weight. This ridiculous troll... He already weighs himself down with so much else, Darkleer figures he may as well take some of his weight, light as it is. It's hardly a burden in comparison to so much else.]

Well, we both know you are rather biased when it comes to yourself. Just hush and let me spoil you.

[Adjusting his arms, Darkleer begins to knead and rub at the muscles in his back, taking care like always near the wings.]

Biased? Guess so- [A chuckle.] I am pre-tty fantastic. [Said giving Darkleer a small grin, chill shooting down his spine suddenly from the hand at his back. Summoner shivers, wings quivering behind him.]

[He keeps working at his back, kissing at Summoner's hairline.]

[The chilled lips at his brow is a nice touch, and Lysunder smiles, dipping his head in a little near Darkleer's chest, pulling in a deep breath and opening his wings, blanketing them around the floor near where they sit.]

And you're just as much of a fool for that. [Though- he's smiling, a hand clinging to Darkleer's idle one.]

[It feels like the tension is easing away properly now, and Darkleer lets himself smile as well while his thumb sweeps over Summoner's knuckle.]

[But he's okay with him being horribly perverted and talking about his posterior all the time. Darkleer hums at the kiss to his jaw before he cuts himself off.]

I- only do that on occasion. At least I came to terms with our relationship sooner than you did, Mister "we can never be together but I am going to steal your apples and some of your horse tail hair and make up reasons to run into you".

Love works in mysterious ways, and- and some times stupid ways. It'll work some how in the end.
