Text [♉] : A Fork in the Road
[So, he's already decided/has to live outside. And Summoner's spent pretty much all his time here so far, day and night, scouting the entire woods area and mapping it out. He's also manage to write up his own notes on the fauna and flora. Good. He's making progress! It's best to just keep his mind busy. If he doesn't...]
[Anyway. All right, notes prepared, things done, but the real problem lies in not the great outdoors, but in... the fact that he can't really be anywhere besides here. And he kind of needs supplies. Also, he had some other questions he needs answered.]

Are they done growing now, do you think? They are brilliant, but I'm sure they get in the way. My matespirit has antlers sometimes, and the few times he's transformed in the house have been complete disasters.
I'd love to. And I could literally fly by! Where can I find you?
no subject
[Is this a... troll? Hm. This is gonna be a guessing game with everyone at first as far as texting goes.]
no subject
No, we're not trolls. And I suppose he's not really my matespirit either, although it's easiest to explain our relationship that way to a troll. We're humans. But not your average humans. He's a wizard and I'm a witch. He has the ability to transform into a stag at will.
I was wondering. Hopefully they won't get too much bigger, though. Or you wouldn't be able to lift your head properly anymore!
On a broomstick, yes. I've also got a wand. There are a lot of things I can make easier.

Yes, this place is very strange. All different sorts of people with interesting powers and abilities. You'll have to talk to him. I'm sure he wouldn't mind showing off his rack to someone with one so similarly impressive.
I suppose that's true. As long as there's not a sudden growth spurt you'll hopefully be able to handle it. :)
And that's just the beginning. Just give me a few minutes to get changed and I'll be right there.

[And he will, nice and comfy on the outskirts of the wood, probably with a deer or two sitting with him.]
["Really?"
"He did that!?"
"Giiiiirl, no way! You best put some reins on that man. Bitch be stepping in yer territory!"
"Oh well I know deer work like that, it still sucks though."]
no subject
Hello!
no subject
Gosh, no horns but your species still sure is mighty fine. Also, hello~
no subject
Thank you. And may I say, your rack is even more impressive in person.
no subject
Oh? Really? [He gives a playing smirk, looking from side to side to see what parts of his horns he can actually see himself.]
They're really not that impressive. Oh you~ [Hand swipe and chuckle.]
no subject
Well over the SFC I could hardly get an accurate impression of them. But now I'm right here. I can see how you would have problems with ordinary doors and hallways.
no subject
[He turns, starting to head into the trees.]
It's unfortunate that this place isn't really made for my species, heh.
no subject
[She follows eagerly, broom in hand.]
The natives here are all human, so the way things work is very familiar to me. I am sorry that it's a problem for you.
no subject
And don't be sorry, I don't mind having to do this at all. Besides, it's good to keep my mind busy. Makes the transition a lot easier.
no subject
I just wish you could enjoy all of the things about the city that I enjoy. At least the forest is beautiful, and clearly you get along well with the wildlife here.
no subject
Well, after I build this house, anyway.
[A small chuckle, his eyes lingering around as he walks, spotting flickers of life here and there.]
I have a hard time not getting along with wildlife to be completely honest. [Puts his hands up with a rather cocky shrug.]
I just have this magnetic personality you see. It's such a burden, it really is!
no subject
[She lets her eyes wander about as well, trying to see what he sees. She grins.]
You're a beastmaster, then. That's brilliant. One of the classes I took at school was Care of Magical Creatures. I enjoyed it very much.
I do have a particular affinity for deer, though. See?
[She pulls out her wand.] Expecto Patronum.
[A silvery mist flows from the tip of her wand and forms the shape of a doe, which gallops ahead of them.]
no subject
That just up shows me now doesn't it? Haha.
--Deer?
[He turns, watching the patronus with an awe inspired expression, his eyes looking to her wide, smile peeled over his lips.]
That was, that was astounding! What was that? heh, well, uh, besides a deer, of course.
no subject
[She smiles back. The deer turns around and gallops back toward them, pausing so that Lysunder could get a proper look at her.]
This is my patronus. There are some magical creatures in the world who are associated with dark magic. The Dementors are one of these creatures. They feed on negative emotion. Fear, sorrow, despair. When they're near it feels as though all the happiness in the world has just seeped out. They can remove a person's soul through their mouths in what is called the Dementor's Kiss. The victim remains alive, an empty shell.
The patronus is basically a strong positive emotion that serves to drive the Dementors away. That's their purpose anyway. But they also happen to form the shape of the animal one has the most affinity to, or some other animal that is significant to them somehow. Mine has always been a doe. Which is...very strange, or maybe serendipitous, that my matespirit became an animagus and the animal he just happened to transform into was a stag. We're truly a mated pair.

[A slightly distant look before continuing, they soon get to a small camp area, benches set up around a dead fire with a small trail of smoke curling up from the black ashes and left over pieces of wood. Summoner moves over to the fire and kneels by it, checking it's heat. The actual treehouse is a little ways away from this spot. But this is where he's been putting most of the wood hes cut so far.]
That's ...actually extremely interesting. Dementors, I've never heard of such a thing, sound positively dreadful. But this patronus is really spectacular! And it's really sweet that your animals match up so well. [Smile.] I bet it's wonderful to have someone that close.
no subject
How did you come to be friends with a dragon? I suppose the same way you befriended the deer?
[Lily surveys the clearing, joining him at the fire.]
I could get that going for you again, if you'd like?
They are. And there are other creatures as well that aren't so pleasant. Grindylows and kappas and ghouls and boggarts.
It is wonderful. I'm very happy with him. Our son just showed up recently. From the future. He's the same age as me now. His patronus is a stag, too.
no subject
Heh, kind of? The creature was once a care taker for a troll that had passed away. It was already familiar with my kind and it took some effort to really form a bond, but... Generally it was the same. Communing to speak and hear in the mind of the creature, just as I did with the deer. Thought times did arise where I had to control her fully. Much to her dismay.
[A sigh. He doesn't much enjoy FORCING things to listen, he can, but it's a lot better when he can will them through words. He didn't always think that though. We he first started to build the animal hordes for the beginning of the rebellion, Summoner was much less picky. He regrets that now though.]
Fire? Sure thing, it'll be nice to have while we work.
Kappas? Grindylows? hell, you have to go into detail... all these creatures I've never even heard of! This is... really spectacular. [His mind drifts off for a moment before he makes his way to a chainsaw sitting near a pile of wood planks.]
From the future? Heh, this sure is a trip. Must be nice to meet your son though. [Son... parents, right, human relationships.]

You look a bit like a pixie with those wings. They're a bit like faeries, if you know what those are. Pixies are a bit more mischievous, though. Unicorns look like white horses, but they've got one beautiful horn protruding from their foreheads. They're very pure magic. There's a unicorn hair in my wand. Kneazles are a lot like cats, but they're much more intelligent. They're very good at reading people. They don't like duplicitous people at all. Can get a bit aggressive. Thestrals...thestrals are absolutely fascinating. One can only see them if they've witnessed someone's death. They resemble skeletal horses with large, leathery wings.
A lusus, yes? Having a dragon for a lusus must have been brilliant. What was yours like? I wish that I had the ability to communicate with animals like that. It's a beautiful gift.
[She follows him as he walks, surveying the work he's already done and talking up a storm as she does.]
Grindylows live underwater. They live in the weeds at the bottoms of lakes and have long fingers that they use to grab onto prey. They've been known to attack wizards and muggles alike. Kappas live far away from where I live, but they're also water creatures. Prey on humans. Ghouls are...really very ugly, slimy things. They live in attics and barns and are really more of a nuisance than anything else. They don't like it when the houses they live in are too quiet and often bang on pipes or otherwise make noise. And boggarts. I think boggarts are one of the most interesting creatures in the world. Nobody knows what they look like, undisturbed. They live under beds and in closets and basements in tight corners. When disturbed, they take the shape of whatever the person closest to it is most afraid of. They generally don't attack, the idea is to scare the person away.
It's absolutely brilliant. I'll die when he's a year old, so this really is the only chance I'll get to know him.
[She sighs happily.]
Now. What would you like me to do?

[Summoner checks the chainsaw as he listens to her every word, mind making mental images of everything as he hears it. Chainsaw -> into sylladex. Unicorns sound simply wonderful, and kneazles sounds positively interesting, And Threstrals... He wishes he could see one right now, eerie but, gorgeous. A part of him mourns not being able to know such beasts, wishing that some how he could.]
Now these are all, on Earth? Hm? Yes, PyralSprite was once a lusus of some kind. Not mine though. Mine was a winged bull, huge thing, couldn't wrestle him down till I hit sweep 10, and even then I had trouble. [A chuckle.]
Grindylows remind me of someone. [Snerk.] All these things though... attacking people or not, hell, I wish I could see them. It's kinda disappointing knowing I'll never get to know such creatures. What kind of beast master am I?
[He glances at her, hearing about her death in relation to her son.]
A year? I'm not sure I understand what that means.
[Summoner moves around to each pile of wood planks, putting them into his sylladex before turning to start moving towards the tree(s) he plans on building in.] And yeah, come with me and we'll start getting this thing built.
