Summoner? Are you busy right now?

[He doesn't look too busy, actually he isn't really on camera? But he looks like he's high up from this angle. Darkleer's getting a lot of sky, and some ocean actually, just a horizon line maybe.]

Uh, not too, what's up?

...You're the second person I've spoken to today that is in a tree, or very high up.

[What is with his red quadrants, good lord]

I just thought we could have a talk.

[About weird secret meetings and the like, but he doesn't say that out loud.]

Well- I mean, nothing really knew there, for me, uh, anyway. [A pause, and his face appears, though, like he's laying back, appearing kind of sides ways from the side of the communicator, as if he had been sitting and leaned back.]

Uh- [A talk?]

[He sits up again, his face showing a moment of concern but he quickly pulls back in the confidence.]

[Summoner moves to take the SFC in hand, his other hand off screen seemingly preoccupied.]

Yeah, uh, sure where at, er- and when.

There's a rocky outcropping on the east side of the island. We can meet there, I doubt we'll be much disturbed. As for the time, well, whenever you're ready. I have a rather free day.

Uh.. yeah, I'll meet you there then. [Still a bit concerned... But all right. He packs up his stuff and turns off his SFC, heading in that direction.]

[Darkleer isn't too fair away from the rocks himself, and enjoying the company of Dural. At least one of them is enjoying this retreat to the island- the lusus much prefers open hair to something under the ocean. He has his arm outstretched with her enjoying the wind in her feathers, and lazily turns her head as she hears Summoner approach. Darkleer turns his head as well and smiles.]

Hello. Enjoying the skies then?

[The smile's reassuring, and contagious, Summoner smiles back, giving Dural a communed greeting as well.]

Hey you, heh- yeah, but when aren't I? [Even with his wings gone Darkleer gave him those robotic ones, and Pyral Spite and he still flew before that too, he just rided dragonback.]

[Lysunder moves closer, casual pace, hands in his pockets as his wings shift and nestle in their usual closed position behind him.]

Fair enough, I suppose.

[Darkleer gestures to the area besides him for Summoner to sit down at before he looks back out to the ocean and gets a little more serious.]

Have any of the locals approached you?

[Summoner follows, sitting nearby and a little behind to keep his horns out of the way.]

Locals? No- why?

Hm. The Station Master approached me not too long ago. He said he had an idea on how to fix the barrier around the city.

Yeah? Being what?

[A frustrated sigh.]

He wouldn't say. It appears that he wants all interested parties to meet with him, in the building near the elevator, tomorrow. Then he'll explain.

How'd he say it? Did anything look off about him? [His lips purse, glancing out to the water. If he wants them to meet in a specific place to tell all of them- a bit suspicious, but it could just be easier than saying how over and over again...]

He was very polite and friendly about the whole thing.

[That, to a degree, answers both questions. With how Thalassino and the Head Nurse acted, Darkleer doesn't exactly trust friendly locals anymore.]

He even mentioned to me he would have devices in the room that I was not to disrupt, although he did offer to give me the schematics. I plan to arrive early and scan them as well.

If enough people show up- but it worries me, didn't the coral do that because it was weak? What if the only way to get it working again is to- use us, like always but- [Furrows his brows.]

All this just- feels off, but I guess not a lot ever really feels... right here, so...

I'd go as well.

I was hoping you'd say that.

[Twisting around to face him, Darkleer reaches for one of his hands so he can press his lips to his knuckles.]

With your ability to watch so much, I would feel a lot more secure in the situation.

[Watches, his lips curling into a small smile, eyes a bit wary.]

Eh heh- Yeah, I'll be sure to be there with you, and be there, and there, and over there-

I do believe I understand your point.

[Dropping his hand, he looks back out to the ocean. His other topic of conversation isn't... one he really wants to have, but his conversation with Pyralspite is hard to forget.]

...You know, let's say, one day, we finally managed to get the upper hand on the scientists and could either stay here to carve out a new life, or go back to where we came. Which would you choose?

[He already knows the answer, but he just wants to make sure they're on the same page.]

[The mood dropped quickly and he feels a tug in his chest but remains silent, just listening for the time being. The question comes at a surprise- Darkleer, should know his answer, but Summoner doesn't find the words rolling off his tongue quickly. There's a pause, ears taking in the sound of seagulls and the subtle rush of the tide, his hands move, placing neatly on his lap and rubbing fingers softly into the loose cloth of his pants.]

Ah, well uh- my life's not really mine to have anymore- [He starts, trailing off, a sad smile just barely curving his lips.]

I - couldn't stay if it meant not being there, but knowing... everything kinda starts back up as it did when I go home? I dunno... [His brows furrow, moving a hand to rub a shrugging up shoulder, wings shifting a bit behind him.]

If I chose here- and never went back, even after I died- I uh, I dunno, if I'd die here of old age and still revive again... or revive again back home like I was before I was herded this way- I, don't think I could do that... [His eyes close, shaking his head slowly.] I could never abandon everyone- everything. But if I dunno- if I could choose to stay longer, heh, and ya know, still pop back in where I had been before back on that rock? [Smiles, small, eyes opening just barely to stare down at his own feet.] I wouldn't mind just sticking around her a bit longer.

[The silence is alright- Darkleer won't rush things. He knows that rushing doesn't always bring about the most honest answers. So he waits, watching as Dural takes to the skies and soars along on the winds. This really is a good place to have a conversation. The ocean's waves and constant chatter of birds helps fill up any silence that threatens to be awkward.]

[Summoner's fumbling, stuttering train of thought has him listen closely, and he can't help but smile fondly. What a trainwreck. A sweet, loyal, amazing and dedicated trainwreck.]

Always the general. Of course you wouldn't be yourself without that part of you.

It would be nice for us to be able to travel back and forth between our worlds, with Vatheon as our crossroads, always open for us... Zelda's dream certainly is a desirable one. We could use it to help bring your rebellion to fruition...

[The only problem is Darkleer isn't sure how much of a chance they have of such a thing occurring. A deep breath.]

But if we were ever forced to pick just one or the other... I'm not sure if I could go back to Alternia with you.

Uh, I- I more mean if I had a choice to stay longer or shorter, I'd stay longer... But to never go back? Even after dying I- can't do that. [His brows furrow.]

It's not too big of a deal, heh, I mean, I'm pretty much a single hair on a hoofbeast to a highblood, as far as time goes, ya know?

[Lysunder glances up, sighing a little.] Even if you went back we wouldn't... be like this, you know that right? Back home, I uh- I didn't remember any of this, heh, don't think I coulda ever tied things down with Fang like I did if I had remembered. [Goes still as he stares at the ground, leaned forward, arms/elbows rested on his legs.]

I'd rather you here anyway. Once I'm back, lance in hand, there's no point wasting anything on the few sweeps I have left, hey?

That's part of why I don't think I could go back. [Without even really thinking about it, his hands go to clasp together, nails digging into the back of his knuckles.] If I return with no memories, then I waste away in a cave, no purpose, no contact with anyone else, nothing. If I returned with them... It might not make a difference.

[He tries to smile, but it's sad instead of reassuring.]

We still couldn't be together. After your relationship with Mindfang, I would be just another highblood to your troops- and that's if they didn't find out I was the Executor of the previous rebellion's leader.

Here, I can do a bit of good. I can build things, I can teach the boys how to be better than I ever was... I wouldn't be in your way.

Ah, Tink- [Said with a sigh as he pushes himself up to stand. On his way up, he puts a hand on Darkleer's shoulder and squeezes.]

That's the point of it all- make it so you'll never be in the way, so everyone's got some clear skies for once.

Well then... [He leans his head on the hand a bit, hair brushing against Summoner's fingers.]

Whenever you return, do hurry up and make that a reality then, won't you? Vatheon might transform me into an old man again and I'll die of old age.
